The crowd was a little more annoying. At one point we couldn't even move, but I was determined to get to the red beans & rice only to find a line wrapped around a crowd. I got in line and my husband went straight up to the tent and asked one of the servers if they were serving red beans & rice today and he was told that they were and the guy fixed him a bowl on the spot. So yeah! I didn't have to wait, and I'm glad because the red beans & rice was AWFUL!! It was literally dry red beans in dry white rice, no sauce or season at all. YUCK! So I went back to the spot that never failed me...the seafood gumbo stand. The gumbo seafood stand never let me down, always there and always good. I mentioned that the crowd was more annoying, but I didn't mention why. Yes, it was the final day of the festival and it did rain, so one would think that less people would show up. But, we're talking about a free festival and guess who closed out on the final day.
Miss (Say My Name) Patti, Pattii!Yep, Patti Belle was the final performer for the jazz festival.
Look at those legs!!
Look at those lashes!! Such a diva!
She was so cute. One of the first things she did when walking out on stage was ask about the barbecue stand to the left of the stage. She said that she was hungry and loved to eat at that the barbecue was calling her. I'm sure someone sent her a plate. She sang her classics and then began to talk, a bit too much so after we ate our gumbo and drank our rum runners, we started walking back home.
