Jacksonville, I Apologize.

In a previous post I did not hold back on expressing my disappointment for Jacksonville Beach, but on my second visit I realized that an apology is due. On Easter Sunday we decided to go have dinner and hang out on the beach. I knew that our plan was pretty much the plan of our friends back in Pensacola and on our way to Jacksonville beach Marcus Sr and discussed how pack the beach probably is back home. Our hotel is about 5 miles from the beach so the last time we went to the beach we took Atlantic Blvd. This time we took Beach Blvd and I'm glad we did. On the way to the beach we discovered a water park and a Super Target among other places to go. Once we got to the beach I noticed a crowd of cars headed between a tight little street near the shore, so I decided to follow, and I found a little bit of what I was looking for.
The area was packed! I believe it is near the Jacksonville Beach Pavillion which is similar to Pensacola Beach's Boardwalk. It took us forever to get through traffic and find a parking spot. We were starving and lucky for us there were so many places to eat. We decided to go to Paco's Mexican Grill, just because it didn't seem as crowded as some of the other places on the strip.

SO SILLY!

The food was really good, but our waitress sucked.
After dinner we continued to walk and see the sights.

Did I mention that Marcus decided to wear slippers to the beach?! You can take the man out the country but.....

Anyway, we ran into some really funny drunk guys.
They were so impressed that Lil Marcus was wearing a button down shirt and they started dancing and high fiving him. It was funny at first, but then it got annoying and we started to ignore them.
We really liked what we saw on this visit to the beach. Live music, good food, and better public access. There still is a huge inbalance with the amount of residential property versus commercial. Hopefully this little strip doesn't represent all that Jacksonville Beach has to offer and we can find another area tucked among the many houses and apartments. I was very satisfied with my experience this time, but it's still no Pensacola Beach.
