Easter Weekend

Did anyone go to the Helicopter Easter Egg Drop downtown? Those are two hours of my life I will never get back! So what went wrong? Well lets see...a few thousand people going for a few hundred eggs...not a good situation. It was complete chaos. Lil Marcus didn't get one egg and he was very upset about it!

But he was excited about seeing the helicopter.

After the Helicopter Egg Flop...I mean Egg Drop...was over we went to my parents house, where my father put little Marcus to work-he does not discriminate!
(I took the picture as far away as I could so I wouldn't be spotted and ended up having to rake too)

Last year we had an easter egg hunt for Marcus Jr in the back yard and this year his cousins came over to participate with him so he won't be alone. Marcus Sr and I (mostly I) cooked 24 biscuits, scrambled a dozen eggs, boiled two packs of sauage, fried a whole pack of bacon, and made a pot of grits (grits are not my specialty at all-I have to read the box and use measuring cups and I still get them wrong; my pancakes are worse). After everyone had breakfast we went in the back yard for the Easter egg hunt that was suppose to be for the kids under four but as you can see that rule went in one ear and out the other.
My niece in the blue dress taking the egg-over four; the little one behind her-under four.
These two were in serious violation of the kids "under four" rule!
She got her one egg and one piece of candy and was finished!

Now lets get to the cheating parents! My husband was the main one! He was telling Marcus Jr where the eggs where and he was the one who helped me hide them-talk about conflict of interest! Cheating parent #1
Cheating Parent #2
Cheating Parent #3 and #1

Everyone had a great time and that's all that matters

After everyone left we took Marcus Jr out to play with the bat and baseball in his Easter Bucket. He was surprisingly pretty good-we had no idea!

His batting streak ran out-and so did his patience.

After a good nap we went to my parents house for dinner.

And no trip to my parent's house on Easter is complete without an Easter Basket from them.

Well I pretty much covered everything. I hope that your Easter was as fun as mine and if it wasn't then there's always next year.

Leave me a comment and let me know about your Easter weekend.

  1. Hey Trenecia! I love your blog! I am going to type my Easter weekend as fast as I can because I have to run to a meeting at 2p.m. (I'm cutting it close lol)
We came to Pensacola for my dad's 59th birthday. Saturday we planned a picnic at Pensacola Beach. We were late arriving (as usual) so we didn't make it to the beach until a little after 4p.m. To our surprise, it was COLD! Me, Jessica, and Kristen almost froze to death in our bikinis! lol Other than the coldness, it was a nice family picnic. After the picnic, Ryan tried to talk us into going to some club called Carracell? (I know I spelled that all wrong! lol Heck that may not be the name!) We told him NO because we have not been out in P-cola for sooo long and we weren't sure what the crowd would be like. (Plus we wanted to spend more time with our parents) Sunday was packing up the car and driving back to Atlanta with O’Brian screaming his longs out in the back seat. Hope all is well!

Wrote this kinda fast so please excuse the typos and grammar issues! lol
P.S. Keep my dad in your prayers.
