Ok, so I stole my title from Will.i.am of the Black Eye Peas, but I can't say Jacksonville without throwing in his version. Yep, I am in Jacksonville. Marcus got promoted to GM and received his own store in Jacksonville, Florida. So, what do I think about Jacksonville? It's much bigger than Pensacola...and so far that's all I got. Well, let me be fair, I haven't been out as much as I should. I did get to see the Black Eye Peas in concert last month and we had really great seats-2nd row with VIP entrance access! The concert was amazing. Fergie's body is the business! Marcus is not a Black Eye Peas fan, but he did enjoy himself.
We finally went to the beach last week and I must say that I was not impressed. I've heard people say that Pensacola Beach is one of the world's most beautiful beach and now I am starting to agree, eventhough I think Destin Beach is better than Pensacola. I think my issue with Jax Beaches are that there are houses along the beaches and not alot of public access. Even the restaurants are a few blocks from the shore because of homes. Sometimes you want to go to the beach and see the sand and water without actually having to get sandy and wet, but in Jacksonville I didn't see anything like a boardwalk or shore side restaurant. We ate at a restaurant on the beach and even sat outside, but sitting there you wouldn't know that your eating on the beach because there wasn't a view, just houses and hotels. I know in Pensacola there are alot of homes but there's the boardwalk, lots of public access areas, and most of the restaurants are right off of the shore. I can get dressed up and go to the boardwalk in Pensacola grab a Tropical Itch and luxuriate and know I am on the beach with out actually having to go out into the sand. Anyway, here are some pictures from our first beach encounter.
We are staying in a hotel and haven't quite decided where we want to move. I want to move downtown but Marcus is more interested in the Ponte Vedra Beach area. Ponte Vedra is actually where Tiger Woods held his apology press conference. Its funny, one moment Marcus will side with me and we decide to go forward with the place I was to move to, but then he'll back out and then we decide to go with where he wants to move and I start back peddling. Our hotel suite is pretty big and even has a small stove, full fridge, table, chairs, cable, and even internet-so there's not too much of a rush to sign a lease. So far we haven't killed each other so taking our time is okay, for now. There are so many parts to Jacksonville and we having fun discovering them. Some parts that we have come across are pretty nice and others make Cervantes look like Rodeo Drive, but I know that's how it is in most cities-especially big ones.
I am still doing graphic design and some photography for clients in Pensacola and I am looking forward to starting a base here in Jacksonville.

Valentine's Day
I normally don't refer to February 14th as Valentine's Day due to the fact that it is my husband's birthday and we are usually having a party for him. This year with our recent move we decided to come home to Pensacola to see my brother-in-law perform at a jazz concert. The headliner for the show was the band Will Inspire. I was asked to design the poster for the show.
Of course I brought my camera, and here are some photos.
The band was great, especially the singer-her voice was amazing. My brother-in-law did a really good job as well.
(There was also a surprise proposal from a guy who told his girlfriend that he was performing. He started rapping a song about her and then got down on one knee and proposed.)

WEBSITE UPDATE
I haven't updated my website in a very long time, but I am working on it and I think I am going to use photos from an afternoon with my son in the backyard. Here's a peek....
Gotti
I typed the title Gotti and stared at my computer for awhile. He has been so hard to talk about, so hard, that I don't. Sometimes I forget that he is no longer with us-it's easier that way, atleast for now. The last six months have brought about so much change. If I could talk to myself in September 2009 and disclose where I am now and everything that has happened in my life, I wouldn't believe it for a minute.
I miss Gotti so much. With Marcus Jr at school and Marcus Sr at work I spent most of my days at home with Gotti. He would literally follow me everywhere I would go, even if he was asleep he would wake up and be right behind me. He was an awesome dog and brought so much love, fun, and security to my family. He liked what he liked and who he liked, and outside of my household there wasn't too many in the "who" category, but he's never caused anyone any harm.

Marcus Jr brings up Gotti almost daily- from "Mommy, I miss Gotti" to "Can we go to the dog store and pick up Gotti?" Marcus Jr is only four, so at this time we haven't explained to him that Gotti is gone forever.
I really don't know what else to say-it took me almost an hour just to type this much. Below are the last photos that I took of Gotti.

A Few Christmas Pics
Playing Catch up! Here are a few photos from Christmas morning.
We let Marcus Jr decorate the tree, and he chose buckets and decorations that he made at school.
